Leonardo XR Cleaning and Maintenance Guide

Guida alla Pulizia e alla Manutenzione

Before You Begin

Turn off the headset, disconnect it from the charger, and remove the face pad and any accessories, if possible. Perform all operations on a clean, dry surface. Wash and dry your hands before handling the device.

Prepare at least two clean, lint-free microfiber cloths: one dedicated to the lenses and one for the exterior surfaces. To remove dust from the lenses and small openings, it is recommended to use a manual air blower, avoiding contact with surfaces using rigid tools.

Recommended Procedure

  1. Lenses: Remove dust with an air blower, then gently clean with a dry optical microfiber cloth. Wipe from the center outward without applying pressure.

  2. Chassis and plastic parts: Wipe with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Prevent liquids from entering openings, ports, sensors, or cameras.

Use a ready-to-use hard-surface and electronic device disinfectant solution containing 70–75% ethanol as the cleaning liquid.

  1. Cushions: Remove and clean separately. Wash with fresh water and a mild detergent; allow to dry completely before reattaching. The Leonardo XR features removable cushions with magnetic attachment.

  2. Controllers and cables: Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth, paying close attention to buttons, joysticks, and connectors.

Shared Use Guidelines

For shared headsets, clean all surfaces that come into contact with the face and hands after each user.

To disinfect the plastic chassis, apply a compatible product to a cloth if necessary, never directly onto the device (see point 2.0 Chassis and plastic parts in the Recommended Procedure section).

We recommend using disposable protective face masks with the following features:

  • Hypoallergenic masks free of latex.

  • Soft, non-abrasive material suitable for prolonged skin contact.

  • Specially sized for VR/XR headsets.

  • A design that does not cover lenses, cameras, sensors, or ventilation openings.

Important Warnings

  • Never spray liquids directly onto the headset.

  • Do not use alcohol, detergents, disinfecting wipes, or glass cleaners on the lenses.

  • Do not submerge the headset, controllers, or cushions in liquid.

  • Do not use abrasive products, solvents, or paper on optical surfaces.

  • Before each use, verify that both the headset and the face pad are completely dry.
